How-To's

What can you do with all of those leftover scraps?

Scraps are your best friend. Don't throw them away. Cut them into usable sizes:
  • 2 1/2 squares (Mini Charms)
  • 5" squares (Charm Pack)
  • 2 1/2" strips (Jelly Roll)
Place them in a container with a label. They will be easier to find for your next project.
2 1/2" Mini Charms

What if you cannot find mini charms [2 1/2" squares] to make Two Karat Diamond, Hourglass, Cascading Waterfall, Diamonds are Forever, or Field of Diamonds?

Cut your own 2 1/2" squares . . .
  • Fat Quarter makes 56
  • 5" Charm Pack has [42] 5" squares, cut into fourths = 168
  • Fat Quarter makes 56
  • Jelly Roll has [40] 2 1/2" WOF strips, cut into squares = 336
  • Layer Cake has [42] 10" squares, cut into eighths = 672

What about those tiny pieces of fabric - should I just throw them away?
  1. Get a picture frame (I went to the Dollar Store).
  2. Use basting spray on the cardboard insert.
  3. Adhere fabric scraps all over, no sewing required!
  4. Put the glass on top and then the frame.
Instant wall art!
